The Tour V4 SHIFT is a precision Laser Range finding optical musical instrument designed to provide many years of enjoyment. This booklet volition help y'all achieve optimum performance by explaining its adjustments and features as well equally how to care for this precise laser range finding optical instrument. To ensure optimal performance and longevity, delight read these instructions before using your TOUR V4 SHIFT.
INTRODUCTION
Your TOUR V4 SHIFT is Bushnell'southward newest improver to an award winning line of golf laser rangefinders specifically made for golfers. TOUR V4 SHIFT features PinSeeker™ technology with JOLT™, allowing the golfer to easily and quickly "zero" in on the flag without acquiring groundwork targets. The Tour V4 SHIFT weighs a mere 5.half-dozen ounces and made to fit into the palm of your mitt. TOUR V4 SHIFT also features an adjustable eyepiece, 5X magnification, and is capable of providing distance from 5 to chiliad yards with incredible 1 yard accuracy! Like other Bushnell laser rangefinders, the TOUR V4 SHIFT is not dependent upon reflectors, and will provide distance to trees, bunkers, and well-nigh any object on any golf course in the world.
HOW OUR DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY WORKS
The TOUR V4 SHIFT WITH PINSEEKER emits invisible, middle safe, infrared energy pulses. The TOUR V4 SHIFT'southward Advanced Digital microprocessor and ASIC chip (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) results in instantaneous and accurate readings every fourth dimension. Sophisticated digital engineering science instantaneously calculates distances past measuring the fourth dimension it takes for each pulse to travel from the rangefinder, to the target, and back.
RANGING Accuracy
The ranging accuracy of the TOUR V4 SHIFT is plus or minus 1 yard/meter under about circumstances. The maximum range of the musical instrument depends on the reflectivity of the target. The maximum altitude for almost objects is 700 yards/640 meters while for highly reflective objects the maximum is 1000 yards/914 meters. Note: You lot will become both longer and shorter maximum distances depending on the reflective backdrop of the particular target and the environmental conditions at the fourth dimension the distance of an object is being measured.
The colour, surface finish, size and shape of the target all bear upon reflectivity and range. The brighter the color, the longer the range. Red is highly cogitating, for example, and allows longer ranges than the color black, which is the least reflective color. A shiny finish provides more than range than a slow i. A small target is more difficult to range than a larger target. The angle to the target also has an event. Shooting to a target at a ninety degree angle (where the target surface is perpendicular to the flight path of the emitted energy pulses) provides good range while a steep angle on the other hand, provides limited ranging. In addition, lighting conditions (e.chiliad. the amount of sunlight) will affect the ranging capabilities of the unit. The less calorie-free (due east.g. overcast skies) the farther the unit's maximum range will be. Conversely, very sunny days will decrease the unit's maximum range.
GETTING STARTED
REPLACING THE Bombardment
Your TOUR V4 SHIFT comes with a bombardment already installed, and so it's ready to use correct away. To supercede the battery, remove the battery cap past lifting the battery cap tab and then rotating counter clockwise. Insert a CR-2 three-volt lithium battery into the compartment negative end first, and then replace the bombardment cap.
NOTE: It is recommended that the battery exist replaced at least once every 12 months.
Low Battery Indicator: When ane bar is shown on the battery icon, the battery is low and should be replaced. If the battery goes beneath the safe operating level (affecting accuracy of readings), the battery icon will flash and the unit of measurement will not range.
ADJUSTING THE EYEPIECE
Your Bout V4 SHIFT is constructed with an adjustable eyepiece (+/- iii Diopter Adjustment) that allows one to focus the LCD display relative to the image. Merely rotate the eyepiece until the reticle and object distanced to are both in focus to your middle.
OPERATIONAL SUMMARY
While looking through the 5x eyepiece, depress the POWER/Fire push once to activate the in-view Liquid Crystal Brandish (LCD). Identify the aiming circle (located in the centre of the field of view) upon a target at least 5 yards away, depress and concord the Power/Burn down button down until the range reading is displayed well-nigh the lesser of the in-view display. Crosshairs surrounding the aiming circle betoken that the laser is being transmitted. Once a range has been acquired, yous can release the Power/FIRE button. The crosshairs surrounding the aiming circle will disappear once the POWER/Fire button has been released (i.e. the laser is no longer being transmitted).
Note: In one case activated, the LCD volition remain active and display the final altitude measurement for ten seconds. Y'all tin depress the power push button again at any time to distance to a new target.
As with any light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation device, it is non recommended to directly view the emissions for long periods of fourth dimension with magnified lenses. The maximum time the laser is transmitted (fired) is 5 seconds. To re-fire, press the Ability/Fire button down once more.
LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY (LCD) INDICATORS
Your TOUR V4 SHIFT 'due south LCD incorporates illuminated icons or symbols that betoken the selected unit of measure, when the light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation is actively firing, when a target has been acquired, and targeting modes. A summary of these features follows:
MODE and UNIT OF MEASURE OPTIONS
The TOUR V4 SHIFT can be used to measure distances in yards or meters. The unit of measure indicators are located in the lower right portion of the LCD. To select between yards and meters (starting with unit powered off), press and hold the POWER/FIRE button. After 7 seconds, the display will brainstorm to cycle through the options: Yards or Meters (for details on the Slope feature, see "About Tour V4 Shift with Slope Technology"). When the units you want to use are displayed, release the POWER/FIRE button to select it. If you are changing from yards to meters, a change in unit of measure will exist indicated past the illumination of the M for meter indicator while the Y for 1000 indicator is turned off. If you are irresolute from meters to yards, the opposite volition occur. The Bout V4 SHIFT will return to the last unit of measure setting used each time the unit is turned on.
Active LASER
Crosshairs surrounding the aiming circle indicate that the laser is beingness transmitted. Once a range has been acquired, you can release the POWER/Fire push. The crosshairs surrounding the circle will disappear one time the POWER/Fire button has been released (i.eastward. the laser is no longer beingness transmitted).
PinSeeker (LCD Indicator – ) Ever have trouble getting distance to the flag? This advanced mode acquisition of the flag without inadvertently getting distances to background targets (i.e. trees) stronger signal strength.
TIP: While pressing the POWER/Burn button, you can motion the device slowly from object to object and intentionally force the light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation to striking multiple objects to ensure that you are merely displaying the closest of the objects recognized by the laser.
About JOLT
The JOLT feature provides a vibration signal (like to setting a cell phone to "vibrate") that will be felt when the Pinseeker technology indicates the flag has been detected and the distance to it is displayed in the LCD.
About Tour V4 SHIFT with Slope Applied science
The avant-garde and patented slope technology found on the Tour V4™ Shift features a built-in accelerometer-based inclinometer that digitally displays the exact gradient angle from -twenty to +20 degrees of elevation. The Tour V4 Shift will automatically compute an angle compensated range based upon altitude and gradient bending determined by the laser rangefinder and built-in inclinometer. This data is then combined with internal algorithmic formulas dealing with average lodge employ and ball trajectories. The angle compensated range provides direction on how to play the shot (i.e. add together distance if an incline, subtract altitude if a pass up).
HOW TO Utilize Gradient +/-™
The Bout V4 Shift makes changing in and out of slope easier than ever. To utilize the slope function, only slide the Bout V4 Shift logo then that "Slope Edition" is visible. To brand the device conforming again, simply move the logo down.
OBTAINING Gradient YARDAGES +/-
Once in "Slope" style, just hold the POWER push button down while holding the aiming circle on the flag and keeping the unit of measurement equally steady as possible. In one case the distance is displayed, release the Ability push button. One time you accept released the ability button, a degree of bending and compensated range will be displayed.
The Advantage of Slope Engineering science
The distance to flag A in the drawing below is 162 yards. It is also 162 yards to flag B although it is on a slope.
Nonetheless, if you lot were to play this hole as 162 yards, the ball (Ten) would autumn short of the pigsty/flag considering you did not accept gradient into business relationship. The compensated distance would exist longer. In this example, the compensated distance would be 173 yards. If Slope is enabled, the display would show 162y in the upper (large) digits. The lower (smaller) digits would alternate between the angle (4o) and the compensated distance (173y).
OPTICAL Design
Magnification and Coatings
The TOUR V4 SHIFT features 5x magnification and Multi-Coated optics. A liquid crystal display (LCD) is mounted within the optical organization and when activated, displays a reticle for targeting, yards/meters, and Manner indicators. Inherent in the manufacturing process are pocket-sized black spots that appear in the optical organization. These are a natural characteristic of the LCD and cannot be fully eliminated in the manufacturing procedure. They do not affect the distancing functioning of the unit of measurement.
